The Water Valley and Raindance communities have been designated by the Town of Windsor as golf cart accessible communities. This means the Town and Metro Districts have mutually agreed to specific access and obligations.
Golf Carts and Low Speed Electric Vehicles (LSEV’s) are allowed on the streets within the Metro District with a posted speed limit of 35 MPH or less
Golf Carts and LSEV’s are allowed on some of the trails – know as “Cart Approved Trails”. The Cart Approved trails are 10 feet wide and have a painted green centerline
DRIVER OBLIGATIONS
All operators of Golf Carts and LSEV must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver license
Carts and LSEV’s must remain on the roads within the Metro District or on the cart accessible trails
No golf carts or LSEV’s may be operated on sidewalks or pedestrian trails
No golf carts may be operated on streets with a posted speed limit 40 MPH or higher, state highways, Crossroads Blvd., Colorado Blvd, Eastman Pkwy., or New Liberty Rd between 7th St. and Crossroads Blvd.
Golf carts operated between sunset & sunrise or during times of limited visibility must be equipped & illuminated with head lamps, tail lamps, stop lights and turn signals
Golf Carts shall be operated as close to the right side of the road or trail as practical
Golf Carts and LSEV’s must cross New Liberty at a designated crossing
Golf Carts and LSEV’s are not permitted in marked pedestrian crosswalks
The maximum speed on the cart approved trail is 15 MPH
Drivers must obey all posted trail signs
Golf Carts and LSEV’s are not permitted on the Poudre Trail or other City trails
